How to make a 3D Origami Ladybug – Tutorial:
We will need a total of 102 units for this model. This comprises of 28 black, 2 white units and 72 yellow units.
The steps to make each of these paper triangles is provided here.
Rows 1 and 2 are made by connecting black units. Row 1 has 4 black units and Row 2 has 5 black units.
Row 3 consists of 4 black units and 1 yellow unit on either side of the row. For this model, I’ve made the yellow units using two shades of yellow origami paper.
The next row is made using yellow units only. 7 yellow units have been inserted.
Followed by a row of 6 yellow units.
To make the spots in the row, 2 black units are inserted as shown and then yellow units are inserted to complete the row.
Keep adding he units in the fashion shown…
The body of the bug is now complete.
Legs of the bug are made inserting black units. These units used for the legs are half the size of the units used for the rest of the model.
Two white units are inserted into the first row of the model to make the eyes of the insect.
