August is around the corner and the day of celebrating friendship is fast approaching too. So, for this special day let’s see how to make two types of friendship bands using woolen thread. This just needs you to make the basic crochet pattern, so it is really simple.
Glimpse of the Woolen Friendship Band
For this you will need:
- Woolen thread (in three colors)
- Crochet needle
- Colored beads (if you would like to make your bands a little funky)
We will start by making a strand of chain pattern using woolen thread and a crochet needle. To make a chain pattern, take the woolen thread in the color of your choice and make a simple loop.
Insert the crochet needle in the loop.
Tighten the knot around the needle.
Bring the thread from behind to the front of the needle as shown here.
Using the hook bring this thread inside and out of the loop made.
Repeat the above step to make the chain.
Keep repeating the step till you make the chain of the desired length. Once the chain is made, remove the needle and make a knot at the end of the chain.
You can slide beads in the woolen chain to add some zing to the chain.
You can make this type of a simple chain in multiple colors for your band.
Okay, let’s continue with the braided band we started making. Continue after Step 7.
Make chains in different colors (3 colors are needed in total). Make a simple plait/braid using the three strands made. Make a knot at both the ends and your crocheted band is done!
You can add a few beads or small charms to this if needed. I prefer to leave it this way.
