How to make an Origami Cube

A step by step tutorial which will show you how to make a colorful origami cube.  This cube looks like it is made of pieces of puzzle and it is fun making it. All you need is a few sheets of paper.

This is a modular origami model and we will be assembling 6 paper units to complete the cube.

Keep 6 sheets of square paper of the same size ready.

Step to Make an Origami Cube:

Step 1:

Take a square sheet of paper. The size of the paper is about 8 X 8 cms.

Step 2:

Make a crease at the center of the paper. Now make two creases at the sides as shown.

Step 3:

Make a cupboard fold in the paper using the creases made. Make the creases well, this will help the cube come out neat and sharp.

Step 4:

Flip the model made backwards. This has to be done before proceeding further.

Step 5:

Lift the bottom right end of the model and fold it towards the center.

Step 6:

Repeat the step for the top left corner as well.

Step 7:

Now lift the corner and bring it towards the center such that it forms the shape shown below.

Step 8:

Repeat this for the other side as well and press hard to make a good crease.  We would get a diamond shaped model.

Step 9:

Open up the flaps.

Step 10:

Repeat the above mentioned steps for the other 5 sheets of paper.

Step 11:

Now is the interesting part; insert the flap into the other piece. Repeat this for each sheet. Initially the pieces would be loose, once all the pieces are in place, it would get in shape.

All the sheets have to be inserted to form a closed cube.

And its done!
