Gerbera inspired quilled studs – DIY

A beautiful Gerbera had bloomed in our garden. Looking at the flower made me try doing these pretty pair of earrings inspired by the pattern of Gerbera flowers… Let us head to the tutorial on Gerbera inspired quilled studs.

Gerbera Inspiration Earrings

How to make quilled earrings:

These earrings are made using orange, red and brown quilled strips of 5 mm.

Step 1:

Following our usual technique, make a basic coil and glue the end to secure the coil. Fabric glue has been used for this project.

Pinch two opposite points in the coil to make a tear drop pattern. Make 20 such pieces of tear drops.

Step 3:

Quill a dark red tight coil.

Step 4:

Around the dark red coil, quill a fringed strip of dark brown paper.

Step 5:

Open up the fringes to make the center of the quilled flowers.GIE5

Step 6:

Apply fabric glue on one corner of the teardrop and glue it around the center piece as shown.

I made the pattern this way… you could also go for a full flower.

Now to make the studs, the materials needed are:

Step 7:

Apply fabric glue on the earring post.

Step 8:

Set it on the back of the flower and press well. Leave it for some time so it dries well.

Insert the ear backs… here is the completed gerbera inspiration quilled studs.
