Popsicle sticks coaster – Easy craft for kids

Popsicle sticks or craft sticks as they are referred to can be used in a variety of easy craft projects for kids. This tutorial shows how a Popsicle sticks coaster can be made in a few quick steps.

How to make Popsicle stick coasters – Tutorial:

Step 1:

Apply a good glue on one side of a Popsicle stick.


Step 2:

Glue on another stick as shown.


Step 3:

In the same manner glue on 8 to 9 sticks together. Allow the glue to dry – place a medium heavy object on top till the sticks have been glued well together.


Step 4:

Now take another stick and apply glue on it.


Step 5:

Place a stick on top and press the them together.


Make a few more such ‘couple sticks’. I needed 5 such pairs for my coaster.

Step 6:

Glue all the components together. The piece made in step 3 forms the top of the coaster while the paired sticks make up the base.


Step 7:

Flip once dry.


Step 8:

Now for some art work of your choice – I’ve used black fabric paint to draw a Madhubani style design…

Once the design is complete and the paint has dried well, apply a coat of clear varnish and allow it to dry. The Popsicle sticks coaster is done – simple and inexpensive!
