Origami Maple Leaf – Folding Instructions

How to fold an Origami Maple Leaf:

Step 1:

Take a square piece of paper.

Step 2:

Fold the paper in half like a triangle along one of its diagonals.

Step 3:

Fold it again in half from right to left. Press to make a crease.

Step 4:

Lift the top layer and flatten it as shown.

Step 5:

Flip and repeat the previous step for the other side to complete the preliminary base of the model.

Step 6:

Fold the top flap inwards towards the center crease.

Step 7:

Make creases and unfold.

Step 8:

Open up the top flap and lift upwards along the crease. Flatten well.

Step 9:

Flip and repeat the previous step for the other side of the model.

Step 10:

Lift the top part of the structure and bring it downwards to meet the lower tip. You will get the below structure.

Step 11:

Now lift the top sides and fold them inwards towards the center.

Step 12:

Flip and repeat the previous step.

Step 13:

Lift the lower part of the flap, fold it inwards and bring it up. Press.

Step 14:

Fold the top flap in half. (along the vertical axis)

Step 15:

Lift the lower part of the flap now formed, fold it inwards and bring it up.

Step 16:

Fold the the top layer again in half.

Step 17:

Lift the lower part of the flap now formed, fold it inwards and bring it up.

Step 18:

Now fold the pointed edge outward and bring it up the left side.

Step 19:

Fold and piece of paper like a stem and insert it at the bottom of the structure. Here is our completed origami maple leaf.

 You can glue the stem. But this maybe needed only in case of you aren’t able to insert the stem correctly.
