Satin ribbon roses are my favorite, these are simple to make and have an elegant look. Let’s see the procedure of making roses with satin ribbon. A few folds is all it takes!
Satin Ribbon Roses:
For this you will need:
- Satin Ribbon
- Floral Tape
- Sewing thread
- Needle
- Metal String
How To:
Step 1:
Cut the satin ribbon with a length of about 30 cms.
Step 2:
Fold the ribbon at the center at a 90 degrees angle.
Step 3:
Start from the ribbon end pointing towards the left and bring it to the right in a horizontal manner.
Step 4:
Now take the ribbon end pointing downwards and fold it vertically to point upwards.
Step 5:
Repeat the above two steps, each time folding the ribbon to its opposite side such that the folds lie above the already made ribbon folds.
Step 6:
Make the folds till the end of the ribbon. Holding the last fold, when you let go of the remaining folds you would get a structure as shown:
Step 8:
Hold the last fold of the ribbon and gently pull one end such that a rose is formed.
Step 9:
Take sewing thread which is of the same color as the satin and stitch the folds together. A couple of stitches should be sufficient to hold the folds together.
Step 10:
Cut a piece of the metal string in a length of about 10 to 12 cms for the rose stem.
Step 11:
Wrap the green floral tape around the stem and use a little glue to make the tape stick to the stem.
Step 12:
Attach the stem to the rose using a suitable adhesive.
You can make a few more roses and make a a small button rose bouquet. Looks really elegant.
These satin button roses can also be used for embroidery and to add some sparkle to your children’s clothes.
Fabulous tutorial! I was looking for something like this, and love it. Thank you for sharing!
