This is one of the models I used to during my childhood experiments with colored clay. Clay pumpkins can be made easily and is a fun activity.
Glimpse of the Result:
For this you will need:
- Saffron(Orange)/Brown and Green Color Clay (Play clay or Polymer Clay)
- Toothpick
How To:
Step 1:
Roll the orange clay in your palms and make a neat round ball out of it. You can vary the shape since pumpkins are seen in mildly rectangular shapes as well.
Step 2:
Make a small dent at the top of the ball using your index finger.
Step 3:
Using a toothpick make indentations (lines) around the clay uniformly.
Step 4:
For the stalk of the pumpkin use the green clay and make a shape similar to below. This again can vary, can be in any shape but should look like a stalk.
Step 5:
Place the stalk on the dent made at the top and press mildly.
These pumpkins can be made in various shapes as shown. It is simple and will take only a few minutes to make.
Your kids can make make these pumpkins for Halloween; just that you might have to add some spooky features for that.
