So, Father’s Day is around the corner and it is time to surprise your dad with gifts and cards. This tutorial will show you how to make a different type of greeting card for father’s day.
This is an idea which I liked and picked from familyfun.go.com (I happen to like this site a lot as it gives me cool craft ideas which I regularly keep experimenting)
Glimpse of the ‘Shirt’ greeting:
For this you will need:
- Thick paper
- Colors (Preferably poster or acrylic paint)
Cut the paper in the size needed. This will be the size of your card.
Paint the paper in a color of your choice. This will be the color of the shirt. So, this can be filled with patterns, lines, or any other design that you can think of. This can be a funky shirt 🙂
Once the paint is dry, turn the paper backwards and paint it like something below. This is the side where you would write your greeting message. This can be fully colored as well, up to you.
Cut the top part of the paper further down as shown. This is to make the collar for our shirt.
Fold the cut portion inwards and join the two ends to make the collar.
Turn it backwards and write the message for your daddy dearest in your own words.
Now keep the short aside. Let us make the tie using a piece of paper. Cut the paper in the shape of a tie. You can also use scrapbook paper or any other colored paper to cut out the tie so that you can use that pattern for your tie. For this card, I’ve chosen a simple white tie.
Attach the tie under the collar to get the desired ‘formal’ look.
If intended, add some more design or pattern to the shirt. You can also glue a few buttons to the shirt collar to give a neater look and you’re done with your card.
