In the year 2004, a project by name ‘Transformation AGO’ was started and the gallery was completely renovated. The is project was completed in the year 2008. Amazing wood work  and infrastructure is what the gallery has become an epitome of now.  The structure and layout has made the museum more spacious, airy and easier to navigate.Galleria Italia is the master piece infrastructure which is shaped like a ship’s hull. It is a sculpture gallery which runs across the length of the building enabling the visitors and passersby to see inside the gallery.Various benefactors have contributed to this transformation by providing monetary contributions and by donating their collections.

One thing visitors to this gallery would notice is the security guards here. They are surprisingly knowledgeable about the collections and guide the visitors pretty well on their museum tour.

AGO has launched an online platform called the Collection X which gives its visitors a virtual tour of its collections.  Schedules of various exhibitions, videos and audios are also available here.
