This tutorial will explain you how to make pretty looking paper lilies in a few steps. These paper lilies are sure to exude the sort of freshness that a bunch of real lilies bring. Let’s begin.
Glimpse of the Paper Lilies:
For this you will need:
- Thick paper in white color
- Yellow and Green acrylic or poster paint
- Set of brushes
- Some string
- Green tape
Cut the white chart paper in the shape of a hand. This needn’t be real perfect you know. A shape similar to a hand will do fine.
Use a pencil or a brush to twirl the fingers of this hand. Do this gently else creases may appear in the paper.
Use yellow color acrylic paint and add some streaks to the lily petals to make it look more natural. The streaks could look as shown below.
Allow the paint to dry for some time.
Once the paint is dry, roll the paper neatly joining the two ends. Roll it such that there is a small gap at the bottom for inserting the stem. Paste it with glue to look as below.
The base flower is now done.
The next step is to make the stem for the flower. Take a piece of string and bend the top part of it like a loop.
Paste the green tape around the string using a little glue.
Now lets make the leaves using paper. Cut the chart paper in the shape shown below.
The center part joining two leaves has to be slightly broad. This is because we will be making a small hole in it to insert it in the stem.
Use green acrylic or poster paint and color the leaves. Acrylic paints are better as they are thicker and have a mild glossy effect which is suitable for leaves.
Insert the base flower created into the stem. The loop made at the top ensures that the flower does not move out.
Make a small hole in the center part of the leaves and insert them in the stem as well.
Your lily flower is now done!
Make a few of these and arrange them in a flower vase. Lilies are beautiful when they are arranged in a bunch.
